Tara Jones, M.S., CCC-SLP

Certified Speech Language Pathologist

Tara Jones, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of Kaleo Speech and Language. Inspired by the Hawaiian word Kaleo, meaning “the voice” or “the call,” Tara’s work is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves the chance to develop their voice—physically, functionally, and emotionally.
Tara has extensively studied sensory motor therapies with specialties in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and Auditory Processing Therapy. Her Myofunctional Therapy emphasizes nasal breathing retraining, oral rest posture optimization, and sensory-motor integration. Her care approach blends hands-on experience with evidence-based techniques, supported by advanced training through The Breathe Institute. She provides Auditory Processing Therapy through the Buffalo Model of Auditory Training Approach developed by Jack Katz.
She is currently pursuing a Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology at Northwestern University, where her research focuses on airway-centered speech interventions and the interplay between communication and craniofacial development.
Tara is a strong advocate for equity in healthcare education and mentorship. She is deeply committed to creating space for minority voices within the speech-language pathology profession, aiming to shape a more inclusive, informed, and forward-thinking future for the field.

Tara is licensed in Indiana as well as Idaho. She is on-site and offers teletherapy services.

Tara loves to run and dance hula.

She has found hula to be a great form of exercise, as well as an excellent way to share the spirit of Aloha.
